Description:
Gary Lynn McDonald, “Gary Mac”, whom God sent to earth on September 6, 1947, and received back into His presence on February 1, 2019. He was 72 years old.

Gary was a loving husband, brother and uncle. He was born and raised in Dallas, TX and graduated from W.H. Adamson High School in 1966. Gary enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served in Vietnam from 1966 to 1968. He was a 20-year resident of Longview, TX at the time of his death.

He was a Lifetime member of the Marine Corps League, Detachment #959, and was selected as Marine of the Year in 2008. He was a member of Solid Rock Bible Fellowship Church. Other memberships included the American Legion, Post #140, Citizens on Patrol, and he was a long-time member of the NRA.

Gary received a second chance at life when he was blessed with a liver transplant on his actual birthday in 2004 at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, TX.

Gary is survived by his wife, Nancy, his brothers: Richard McDonald of Broken Arrow, OK, Randy Daniels of Aruba, Ronnie Daniels of LaMarque, TX, Brian Keith McDonald and wife Beth of Crossville, TN. His sisters: Terrie Sue Heinen and husband Robert of Garland, TX, Georgia Kathryn Martin of Springfield, IL, Carol Jean Palmer of Sulphur Springs, TX, and his special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Elizabeth “Ann” Howard, and his parents Kathryn Elizabeth Standifer and Hubert Clinton McDonald. Gary made friends all over the United States and Canada throughout his more than 30-year career as a bus driver for entertainers.
